Tortuga Bay

It is located in the southern part of the island of Santa Cruz and comes after a forty-five minute walk along a path through forests of cactus


Tortuga Bay is a beach of white sand and turquoise waters, perhaps among the most beautiful of the Galapagos Islands and receives massive visit of sea turtle nesting season.

Useful Data

Bahía Tortuga is one of the main recreational places of Galapagos National Park preferred by the local inhabitants and tourists. In this place there used to exist a small population of land turtles of the Pinzón island, that were taken by whalers and old inhabitants of this site. It is the largest white sand beach in the island.


There are 2 ways to arrive this site, by the sea via sea taxis that the part from the passengers pier of Puerto Ayora and by land through a path of about 2 kilometers connecting the port in this site by foot only.
