The Yasuní National Park, is located in the eastern center of the Amazonian provinces of Orellana and Pastaza and is the largest protected area of ​​continental Ecuador. It was created on July 26, 1979, with the one million hectares hosting an important natural and cultural heritage. It is considered one of the most biodiverse places on the planet so it has been scientifically qualified as “Refuge of the Pleistocene”.

The humid tropical forest of the yasuní is a privileged place in election to other regions of the planet. Due to a combination of geographical, geological, meteorological and historical factors; The tropical jungles of Yasuní are considered the most biodiverse and richest on the planet, there is no other region in the world that offers the necessary conditions for such a vast and complex development of life.

The management plan of the PNY, Plans the execution and development of several activities that through four programs seek to achieve the proper functioning and management of the area, one very important is the Public Use and Tourism Program. Currently the PNY has 103 local guides for the area, 12 tourism operators with a patent, a tourist operations manual and a visitor management plan. By means of loan agreements between the Ministry of the Environment and the San Francisco and Catholic Universities of Quito, two Scientific Stations, Yasuní and Tiputini, are located respectively.
