From October 17 to 20, 2016, Quito hosted the third Habitat conference, a United Nations program that works towards a better urban future. 167 countries were represented (45,000 registered, 30,000 accredited and 10,000 international participants), 500 national participants, 500 workers.

Routes Americas is the continent’s main aeronautical event that took place from February 13 to 15, 2018 at the Quito Exhibition Center. This event included the main world airlines, airports and tourism entities that finalized new businesses and investments. 800 delegates, 80 airlines, 300 airports, 40 tourism authorities, 20 speakers and more than 30 national and international press representatives.

GUAYAQUIL - 23rd Annual Meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association - LACEA - 2018
The Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association is an international association for economists with common interests, which works to facilitate the exchange of ideas between economists and public policymakers in Latin America. The event was held from November 8 to 10 at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL), Gustavo Galindo campus, and saw 700 attendees. The purpose of the event was to encourage debate among participants on relevant economic issues in the Latin American and Caribbean region.
LX Annual Meeting and the Assembly of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank, IDB.
From July 16 to 17, 2019, the LX Annual Meeting of the Assemblies of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) was held at the Hilton Colon Hotel, where economic and social issues of the region were discussed, the institutional development of the agency and ideas and opinions were exchanged between the IDB Governors and IDB Invest (Inter-American Investment Corporation). This event brought together more than 1,000 people between authorities, delegations and attendees.
Guayaquil is the third city in Latin America as an emerging destination (non-capital city) that hosted this important government event that only reaches the capital cities.
