Rafting in Tena
Discovering the world means experiencing new things, taking a break from our daily routines and creating unforgettable experiences. Most people believe they should just pack their bags and start a long faraway vacation, however, they may not need to go too far. Just four hours from Quito is the Amazonian city of Tena, the capital of the Napo Province, where you can create new wonderful experiences and recharge.
Good hostels, interaction with nature and a rich gastronomy are a good start, however, one of the main attractions here is white water rafting on the Napo River. There is no need to be a professional; all you need is an adventurous spirit and the desire to experience new things. For approximately USD$40.00, you may enjoy this activity for about five hours. This includes the use of the paddle, helmet, life jacket and the accompanying guide.
White water rafting should be in everyone’s “Bucket List,” especially for those looking to relax and have some fun.
The adventure begins in the calm areas of the river. For the first 10 minutes, it seems to be a quiet stroll, and people are able to enjoy the calm waters and bird watching in the jungle. This is followed by “the rapids” – as the guides call them- with teamwork the raft flows with the river, preventing it to flip over. However, if the raft flips, it may actually be more fun! Everyone would swim, laugh and return to the raft to continue the journey and have a memorable experience. White water rafting should be in everyone’s “Bucket List,” especially for those looking to relax and have some fun.
