The momentum and support that the Ecuadorian Government provides investors allowed positioning the country as an attractive destination in the international arena, a claim that is based on the 10 tourism projects that are part of the "First Stone" Plan, with an investment of over USD 211 million.
In Quito, the Great Condor Wyndham hotel, by the Pronobis company, is fully under construction. It is being built on a plot of 22,000 m2 in the western part of the capital’s new Mariscal Sucre Airport.
The distinctive architectural design makes the Gran Condor Hotel visible from a long distance. A first phase will have 146 rooms, with a future expansion of 100 additional ones. It will have all the facilities of a five star establishment, including several restaurants, swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, shops, multipurpose rooms, etc.
In Guayaquil, the construction of the tallest building in the country, Swissôtel and its SwissTowers– has already started. This is a five star hotel complex with two towers 190 m high, located on the Simon Bolivar Malecon, overlooking the Guayas River.
It will have an approximate investment of USD 120 million and each tower will have 40 floors. The first tower will house a pool area, gym, tennis courts, a jogging track, spa, 300 rooms and 120 apartments, while the second tower will have ten levels of parking spaces and 30 floors of offices.
Other entrepreneurs have joined this project. This are: the Accor Group, which will build several hotels around the country; the Best Western Chain that will be present in Manta, and the Oro Verde Hotel that will build in Guayaquil. All these projects will privilege the use of building materials manufactured in the country, besides generating hundreds of direct and indirect jobs.
