The Ministry of Tourism trained over a thousand tour operators around the world on four top destinations in the country: Tren Ecuador, Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca in five languages: French, Spanish, English, German and Portuguese.
Every two months the Travel Planner magazine All You Need Is Ecuador is published for the tourism’s trade, which highlights a top destination in the country. It is this same destination that is offered in the webinars, also held every two months by the Ministry of Tourism.
The first webinar was about the recognized cruise train, a luxury train that offers travelers a unique experience by crossing from the heart of the Ecuadorian Andes to the Pacific Coast. 213 travel agents attended the webinar and were trained on routes, costs, itineraries and other useful information about the train. This seminar was held on July 21 and 22.
Quito, the “Light of America” city, was the topic of the second webinar held on September 22 and 23. Captivating with its ancient history, the largest and best preserved historic Center in Latin America, and with its tourism offer diversity, the Ecuadorian capital attracted much interest from the trade. A total of 425 travel agents attended the free webinar, marking an unprecedented milestone in attendance for such training by international travel agents.
On November 25 and 26, the third webinar for the trade was held on the vibrant city of Guayaquil; 272 representatives of leading tour operators attended it. It covered suggested routes for sightseeing, important information, and all the tourism services that the Pacific Pearl offers.
The last webinar of the year was held on December 16 and 17 on the charming city of Cuenca. It presented all the necessary information for travel agents to acquire the knowledge they may need to effectively sell this destination full of culture, tradition and heritage and to include it in their touristic offer. It counted with a total of 255 participants.
Aiming at positioning Ecuador as a world class destination, the Ministry of Tourism has been conducting this online training for travel agents around the world as part of the All You Need Is Ecuador campaign focused on the tourism trade, which began in June 2014.
