What to do

Ascension to the Cotopaxi

Andes

Based on 311 Traveler Reviews.

The race runs through roads and paths around the Cotopaxi volcano in 2 stages that generally vary between 60 to 70 kilometers until the circuit closes. All the roads that are used by the race already exists and for that reason the bicycles have little impact in the paramos’s area. The degree of technical difficulty of the race is moderate however, the hardship is set by the length of the race, the attitude in which the race takes place which ranges from 3000 to 4200 meters over the sea level and often the weather conditions may be, very cold with strong winds, rain, ice and even snow..
