What to do

Inmaculada Concepción Cathedral

Andes - Cuenca

The Renaissance style can be seen in its three majestic domes and the baroque style in its baldachin (canopy) with Solomonic columns, bathed in gold leaf similar to the baldachin of the St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. The construction of the towers of the Inmaculada Cathedral was not completed, for fear that it could collapse due to misleading calculations. The bronze sculpture of Santa Ana beside the girl María, is visible between the towers of the Cathedral.
