The Galapagos Islands were discovered by accident in the year 1535 being called firstly as “Enchanted Islands”. In 1835 it was the well-known English naturalist Charles Darwin who fell in love with this place, which he used as a natural laboratory. In 1978, UNESCO declared them Natural Heritage of Humanity.
